A TAFDC case is not eligible for the rent allowance when the family lives in public housing, uses a Section 8 certificate, has a Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP) voucher or agreement, lives with someone using a Section 8 certificate or having an MRVP lease or agreement, pays a rental rate based on a percentage of the household’s income or pays nothing in rent, mortgage or room/board.
