Entering Sponsor Deeming Data

  • Noncategoricallly Eligible Households Only

  • Until BEACON is programmed to perform the sponsor deeming calculation, you must not explore sponsorship for noncategorically eligible households.

 

***  The Procedures Below are not Currently in Use  ***

On this page, you can collect information about the sponsor and sponsor's spouse of noncitizens in the household that are subject to sponsored noncitizen provisions.  This page is enabled if the member was designated a noncitizen and, you selected Yes on the Legal Permanent Resident page for the Sponsored Noncitizen.  The people in the household who can have sponsors include: Grantees, Other Parents, and children over the age of 18.

 

Procedures for sponsors/deemors include;

Name Clearance must be performed on each assessed individual on the Assessed Person page.  Each assessed individual must be added to the AU Mandatory Responsible page with the appropriate Mandatory inclusion, Mandatory inclusion reason, and Responsibility.

 

Set up a Deemor on the AU Mandatory Responsible Page

This is applicable only if the sponsor or sponsor’s spouse is a Deemor.  Also, this assumes that the person was entered into the Household with a Status in HH of Sponsor Not Present and Name Clearance on their record was performed on the Assessed Person page.

  1. access the AU Mandatory Responsible page in the AU Composition Details section of the workflow

  2. select the sponsor or sponsor’s spouse for each applicable program

  3. for Applying, select No

  4. for Mandatory inclusion, select Yes

  5. for Inclusion reason, select Deemor

  6. for Responsibility, select Noncitizen Sponsor or Spouse of Noncitizen Sponsor

  7. to save the information, click Save

 

Add a New Sponsor Individual

  1. on the Sponsor page, for Type, select Individual from the dropdown list

  2. click the Sponsor popup icon and search for the sponsor's name

  3. if the sponsor's name is not listed, on the Household page, add the sponsor as a Basic Person.  For Status in HH, select Sponsor Not Present.

  4. if the sponsor is a deemor, you must enter he or she in BEACON as an Assessed Person and perform Name Clearance on their record on the Assessed Person page.  Then you must set them up as a sponsor on the AU Mandatory Responsible page.  (See the procedure below To set up a deemor on the AU Mandatory Responsible page above).

  5. if the sponsor is living with a spouse, for Living with spouse, select Yes

  6. click the Spouse popup icon.  If the spouse's name is not listed, on the Household page, add the spouse as a Basic Person.

  7. if the sponsor’s spouse is a deemor, you must enter them in BEACON as an Assessed Person and you must perform Name Clearance on that person's record.  Then you must set them up as a deemor on the AU Mandatory Responsible page. (See the procedure below to set up a deemor on the AU Mandatory Responsible page above).

  8. follow the procedure to enter affidavit information

 

Add a New Sponsor Organization

  1. on the Sponsor page, for Type, select Organization from the following Dropdown list:

     

    Group

    Private Agency

    Organization

    Public Agency

     

  2. in the Organization field, enter the organization's name (50 characters)

  3. follow the procedure to enter affidavit information.

 

Enter Affidavit Information on the Sponsor Tab

  1. on the Sponsor page, on the Sponsor tab, for Affidavit of support, enter the date for the affidavit of support.  You can select a date from the popup calendar.

  2. in Affidavit end, enter an end date, if applicable.  You can select a date from the popup calendar.

  3. click Save

  4. to save the information and go to the next page in the workflow, click Next, or

  5. to save the information and exit the page and workflow click Finish

 

Entering Deemor Information

  1. on the Sponsor page, click the Deeming tab

  2. if deeming is required for a SNAP, in the applicable FS group field, for Deeming required, select Yes.  Otherwise, select No.

  3. if for Deeming required you selected No, select a Not required reason from the following dropdown list:

     

    Battered Noncitizen

    Organization or Group Sponsor

    In USA More Than 3 Years

    Sponsor Provision Exemption

    Indigent Exception

    Sponsor Receives FS

    Meets 40 Quarters Combo

    Sponsor is Deceased

    Meets 40 Quarters of Work

     

     

  4. enter Exemption start and Exemption end dates.  You can select dates from the popup calendars.

  5. to save the information, click Save

  6. to save the information and go to the next page in the workflow, click Next, or

  7. to save the information an exit the page and workflow click Finish

 

Update Deeming Information

  1. on the Sponsor page, click the Deeming tab

  2. update the applicable information.  See the procedure Entering Deemor Information.

  3. to save the information, click Save

  4. to save the information and go to the next page in the workflow, click Next, or

  5. to save the information an exit the page and workflow click Finish
